Want to grow the best tasting vegetables in your garden? Julie Dawson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Horticulture at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her background is in organic plant breeding and participatory research. She leads the Seed to Kitchen Collaboration (SKC) with other plant breeders, local farmers and chefs. This SKC tests varieties for adaptation to the upper midwest, with a focus on flavor for local food systems. She will tell us all about her project and may have a few seeds for us to try in our own gardens! Lecture starts at 7pm. Come early if you wish to socialize.
