Winter Tree Identification 2020 | martedì, 01. dicembre 2020

Identifying Trees and Shrubs in Winter  - The Woodford Valley, Wiltshire

A 1 day course giving participants

the skills and confidence to identify trees and shrubs when not in leaf

a chance to identify trees in the field and form twig specimens

a full set of twigs to label and take home

a free copy of the FSC Aidgap Winter Trees guide

Identifying trees through the winter months, when they rarely hold any leaves or fruits, is a real art form; but surprisingly simple when you know what to look for. This course will give participants a chance to look at the majority of British native species and learn how to confidently identify them, as well as take home a set of labelled twigs to aid revision and impress your friends.

The course will be split into a morning identifying specimens indoors, a field visit to the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust Devenish Reserve and then an informal test at the end of the day.

Included in the course fee is a free copy of the acclaimed 48-page colour guide book to winter trees and shrubs.
